These Warranty Terms apply to all domestic roller shutters supplied by Domestic Roller Systems via our website, email, or telephone.


1. Warranty Period

1.1 Domestic Roller Systems provides a five (5) year parts warranty on domestic roller shutters supplied by us, including motors, commencing from the date of delivery.


2. What Is Covered

2.1 This warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship under normal domestic use, provided that the product:

  • Is installed in accordance with the supplied installation guidance
  • Is used for its intended purpose
  • Is operated within normal domestic conditions

3. Supply-Only Orders – Installation Responsibility

3.1 For supply-only orders, Domestic Roller Systems is responsible solely for the supply of the product.

3.2 The customer (or their appointed installer) is fully responsible for:

  • Installation and commissioning
  • Electrical connection and isolation
  • Site conditions and suitability
  • Ongoing maintenance and safe operation

3.3 Warranty coverage does not extend to faults or damage arising from incorrect installation, commissioning, wiring, or site conditions.


4. Electrical Supply, Motors & Controls

4.1 Electrical supply, wiring, isolation, and connection of motors and controls are the responsibility of the customer or their appointed installer.

4.2 Warranty coverage does not extend to faults caused by:

  • Incorrect wiring or polarity
  • Unsuitable or unstable power supply
  • Voltage issues
  • Third-party controls or accessories
  • Failure to follow supplied electrical instructions

4.3 Electrical connections should be carried out by a competent person.


5. Performance, Security & Environmental Exposure

5.1 Domestic roller shutters supplied by Domestic Roller Systems are intended for normal domestic use, including privacy, insulation, light control, noise reduction, and a basic level of security.

5.2 Products are not high-security or wind-rated shutters.

5.3 Warranty coverage does not extend to damage or failure caused by:

  • Wind pressure or gusts
  • Storms or extreme weather
  • Environmental exposure
  • Impact or forced entry

5.4 This is particularly applicable to oversized or wide openings.

5.5 No guarantee is given against forced entry, impact, or extreme weather events. Shutters should be raised during high winds and adverse weather conditions.


6. What Is Not Covered

6.1 This warranty does not cover:

  • Incorrect installation, adjustment, or commissioning
  • Structural movement or uneven openings
  • Use outside vertical domestic openings
  • Normal cosmetic wear (scratches, fading, dents not affecting operation)
  • Misuse, neglect, obstruction, or impact damage

7. Warranty Remedy

7.1 If a valid warranty claim is accepted, Domestic Roller Systems will, at the discretion of the company:

  • Supply replacement parts
  • Repair the faulty component
  • Replace the affected product or component

7.2 The warranty covers the supply of parts only.

7.3 Labour, access equipment, removal, refitting, decorating, or any consequential costs are not included, unless explicitly agreed in writing.

7.4 Where reasonably possible, the company aims to provide a practical and proportionate solution.


8. Reporting a Warranty Claim

8.1 Warranty claims must be submitted in writing and may require:

  • Proof of purchase
  • Photographs or videos of the issue
  • Installation and usage details

8.2 Claims should be reported as soon as a fault becomes apparent.
